Washington, DC – Former U.S. Rep. Tom Graves, President and CEO of Ervin Graves Strategy Group, announced today that Julia Trent joined the firm as Director in its Defense, Aerospace, and Cybersecurity Practice Group.
“Julia’s background in legislative strategy, combined with her extensive Capitol Hill experience, makes her a valuable addition to our team,” said Graves. “I am confident she will play a key role in advancing our defense and cybersecurity initiatives and delivering impactful results for our clients.”
Trent brings nearly a decade of experience across Capitol Hill and political roles. She most recently served as Deputy Director of Member Services and Chief Clerk for the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, where she led all committee activity, oversaw legislative operations, and managed outreach tied to veteran-focused initiatives for Members and staff.
Her background also includes extensive experience in campaign strategy and political fundraising. Trent previously supported congressional PACs and held roles at the Republican National Committee, where she managed national fundraising efforts, developed donor prospecting strategies, and played a key role during high-profile election cycles. Earlier in her career, she held positions in congressional offices, working in legislative communications and constituent engagement.
A graduate of the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and a minor in History, Trent also earned a Business Fundamentals certificate from the UVA McIntire Business Institute. She brings clients a sharp understanding of legislative processes, strong relationships on Capitol Hill, and a strategic approach to navigating political and policy challenges.
“I’m proud to join the team at Ervin Graves,” said Trent. “I look forward to applying my experience on Capitol Hill and in political strategy to support clients as they navigate complex defense and national security issues. My focus is on delivering strategic guidance and cultivating strong relationships that help advance priorities for those we serve.”
