“It is with great sadness that we share Senior Advisor Rhett Dawson passed away at his home in Annapolis, Maryland on February 16, 2026.
“A longtime friend of our Founder and Chairman Jim Ervin, Rhett’s experience in Washington spanned decades; he held senior posts in the Reagan White House and the Senate Intelligence Committee, was Staff Director of the Senate Armed Services Committee, and served as President of the Information Technology Industry Council for 15 years.
“Rhett used his experience to enrich the lives of others at every opportunity, especially our early-career staff. He was revered by our employees and clients alike, to whom he provided invaluable counsel in navigating the intricacies of Washington. Rhett loved his wife Mimi, his children Elizabeth and Andrew, and his grandchildren Indie and Poe. He encouraged us all to lead impactful lives. We will miss him greatly.”
